My son asked for a superhero themed room, inspired by the Lego Batman movie, I’m sure! I was happy to oblige and decorate with Lego Superheroes!
My baby isn’t such a baby anymore. He’s five, will be starting kindergarten in the fall, and is developing his own interests instead of copying his three older siblings. It’s fun to watch his personality develop. So, as I mentioned once before, when it was time to transform his adorable circus themed nursery into a “big boy” room I asked for his input.
“Superheroes!” he told me. But he didn’t mean just any superheroes. He wanted Lego superheroes. (Of course he is obsessed with the Lego Batman movie right now!)
I then began my quest for Lego Superhero themed bedroom decor. It was much harder than I thought it would be. Actually, it was extremely challenging. While there is a TON of Lego decor out there, the superheroes were harder to find. Lucky for my son, his mom is crafty.
I started my search on Etsy and Ebay to find designs I could purchase and print. I loved the images created by a designer on Etsy, and my son gave them the stamp of approval, so I purchased the print files. I printed them out as 8 x 10 images, spray painted ten photo frames cherry red, and decorated his walls with the Lego Superheroes. He loved it.
Me, well, I wanted more. Where could I print on fabric to make a bed cover for him that wouldn’t break my budget? After more online searching I found the perfect way to create decor for his room. I trusted them with my Christmas photo cards, surely I could trust Shutterfly with this project, too.
I started by creating a collage with the superhero image files I had purchased. I opened an 8×10 layout in Pickmonkey and then resized nine superhero images until I had the layout I wanted. After that all that was left to do was upload my image and choose the perfect blanket for Max’s bed.
My package arrived in less than a week. My son, who never gets any mail, was excited when I told him the package was for him. I wish I would have thought to have had a camera ready when he opened the blanket up. I knew he’d like it, but I had no idea how much he would LOVE it! He kept hugging me, telling me thank you, and showing it to his siblings. Then he settled onto the couch with it, and I snapped a quick picture of the very happy boy to share with my friends on Facebook.
Since he loved the blanket so much, I ordered a coordinating throw pillow to go with it. He chose Lego Batman for the pillow. It looks adorable on his bed, but the pillow and blanket will also be perfect for our spring break roadtrip (where we’ll be stopping at the Lego Discovery Center!) He can use both items to keep warm and comfortable in the car, as well as bring a touch of home to our hotel room. Max has never had a “blankie” before, but he definitely has one now! I’m so thrilled that I could make him happy with a bit of home decor!
This is a sponsored post with Shutterfly, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

I would love to have you send me how to do this blanket step by step. It’s so cute and we are doing a lego super hero theme as well!
