Make an adorable unicorn drawstring bag to use as party favors or to give gifts in! This is a sponsored post but all ideas and opinions are my own.
Who doesn’t love unicorns? This adorable unicorn drawstring bag is quick to make and is perfect for birthdays and parties.
Supplies Used to make the Unicorn Drawstring Bag:
- White Canvas Drawstring Bags
- Plush Unicorn Headbands
- Oly-Fun Fabric
- Die cut and die cutting machine
- Black Fabric Marker
- Hot glue gun
- Tulle
Step one: Die cut the Oly-Fun fabric. I used a large pinecone die cut from Tim Holtz, but you can use and large flower die cut for this project.
Step two: Wrap the die cut fabric around a thin object like a pencil or skewer stick. I like to wrap it tightly, pull it off the stick, and then set it on my table to gently unwind.
Step three: Glue the base of the flower with hot glue.
Step four: Print the template for the eyes. Rub over the back of the paper with a pencil, then place the template on the canvas bag. Trace over the template to transfer the image to the fabric.
Step five: Use a fabric marker to fill in the eyes of the unicorn.
Step six: Cut the elastic and tag from the unicorn headband. Use hot glue to attach the unicorn horn in the center of the bag above the eyes.
Step seven: Hot glue the Oly-Fun flowers on both sides of the unicorn horn.
Step eight: Cut several pieces of tulle and knot the end. Hot glue the tulle tail to the back of the unicorn drawstring bag.
When you fill the bag and pull the top shut, the unicorn face fills out nicely. This drawstring backpack will look so cute on someone’s back! These would make great party favor bags for a unicorn themed party. (Maybe make some unicorn farts to put inside!) You could also use them as a gift bag. Have fun crafting and creating unicorn bags!
