This retro TV ornament DIY gets its sparkle from Ultra Metallic vinyl. This is a sponsored post with StyleTechCraft.
I’ve made no secret of the fact that I adore all things retro and mid-century modern, so it’s no surprise that I decided to make a retro themed ornament for the holidays this year! One of my favorite lines from StyleTechCraft is their Ultra Metallic vinyl, which comes in a vast assortment of retro-worthy colors. The high glitter content and shine of this vinyl is reminiscent of vintage autos, don’t you think?
I created my own cut file for this design, and you can download it for free to make your own! Check out my supplies list for all the links.

I started out by putting the red and aqua colored vinyl on the chipboard. I used the “thick chipboard” setting to make sure the items cut all the way through. Also cut two of the inner portions from plain chipboard. This helps create more of a 3D effect. Finally, cut the tree and lettering out of the vinyl with no chipboard backing.
Weed all of the pieces.
I rolled the TV pieces through my Xyron Creative Station to assemble the TV. My StyleTechCraft Transfer tool worked double duty on this project: not only does it help transfer vinyl, it also helps press the Xyron adhesive onto the chipboard!
Attach the two unfinished chipboard pieces to the TV back, then add the front piece. Use Transfer tape to place the tree, lettering, buttons, and other small items on the retro TV ornament.
I had to take a close up pic so you can see all the amazing glitter in this Ultra Metallic vinyl! It’s perfect for all kinds of projects but especially ideal for this retro TV ornament DIY!
I can’t wait to see this ornament on my full-size tree in a few weeks! Have fun crafting and creating with vinyl!
