Create your own DIY birthday bag and tag by combining a fun birthday bundle with vinyl! This is a sponsored post but all ideas and opinions are my own.

DIy bag & tag

My husband used metallic balloons when he decorated for mother’s day, and I LOVED the way they looked! That memory inspired this DIY birthday bag design.

I used the adorable Happy Birthday SVG Files and Clipart Bundle with metallic and transparent vinyls to create this cute bag! I also used some of the clip art elements with the print & cut feature on my cutting machine to make tags. Here’s how you can make your own.

DIY Birthday Bag and Tag Supplies

  • Happy Birthday Cut Files & Clip Art Bundle
  • Plain Gift Bag
  • White Cardstock
  • Metallic Silver Vinyl (StyleTechCraft)
  • Transparent Vinyl in various fun colors (from StyleTech Craft)
  • Transfer Tape
  • Foam Tape
  • Cutting Machine & Design Software
  • Ribbon

Open the balloon file in your design software. Since I was using transparent vinyl I didn’t want the balloons to overlap, so I separated them using my design software. Then I only kept the top layers and cut them from the transparent vinyl. I cut the outline from metallic silver vinyl.

Next I created tags by adding the clip art that I wanted to use. I added text to the tags. For the bag embellishment I simply used the print and cut feature with the clip art provided in the bundle.

Use transfer tape to add the balloon design to the bag.

Use foam tape to “pop” the happy birthday message off the bag.

DIY birthday tag

Add some fun ribbon to the tag and attach it to the bag.
