This DIY lap desk top is the perfect project to get ready for heading back to school! This is a sponsored post with Fairfield World.
It’s hard to believe that summer is halfway over and the kids will be heading back to school soon. Whether your learner is heading back to school in person, learning remotely, or homeschooling, a comfy place to work at home is so very important! This DIY lap desk is a great way for students (or anyone!) to work while they sit in bed, on the floor, or on the couch.
The Poly-Pellets and soft stuffing from Fairfield World make the cushioning of this DIY lap desk super comfy. The pellets make it easy to adjust the cushion to fit your lap or the way you are seated. Since you are making it yourself you can create any design or style you like!
I designed this one to match my daughter’s room. I used the same faux fur fabric I used to make cushions and the blanket for her room so it all coordinates. You could also make this in your school colors, or add favorite characters to the top with decoupage.
I used resin and alcohol inks to decorate the surface of this table, but you could always just paint it and seal it instead. I love the vibrant colors and the shiny finish that I can get with resin and ink, and it looks like a galaxy, to match the vibe of my daughter’s room.
