Make creepy fairy magnets to terrify people with. Cause why not?
I made these creepy fairy magnets last year and was pleasantly surprised to have several people ask to buy them. Ha! It’s refreshing to know that others share my warped sense of humor.
One thing I like about these is that they look innocent from far away, but as you get closer you quickly realize that they aren’t what you thought they would be!
This project was something that was basically an experiment and a way to amuse myself. I like to play with different products just to see what I can do with them, and to learn new techniques. So while I don’t really have a tutorial for this, it is pretty similar to what I did with these creepy Jack-Jack happy meal toys.
The tiny babies are typically used for baby showers (I guess? I keep finding these tiny babies at the thrift store and am never sure what to do with them, other than hide one in a King Cake.) The basic steps are:
- Apply crackle paste to the babies and let it dry.
- Paint on brown glaze and rub it off with a soft cloth.
- Print and fussy cut wings and crowns to glue onto the creepy fairies.
- Glue a small magnet to the back of the wings.
I’ll be making more soon to add to my shop in the near future. If you favorite my Etsy Shop you’ll be the first to know when these and other fun and/or creepy items are listed!
