This cotton candy ornaments tutorial will show you how to make sweet decor or Christmas ornaments.
Welcome to day FIVE of my 12 days of Christmas crafts series! These quick projects are perfect for crafters of all levels. I made these with families and kids in mind, because the holidays are such a great time for everyone to craft together. I hope you’ll enjoy these activities on your own or with friends and family.
The 12 projects all feature items given to me by Oriental Trading Company. Check out my Instagram feed and stories to get the scoop on their latest deals along with codes for free shipping.
Supplies Used in this Make Cotton Candy Ornaments Tutorial
- Paper cones
- Styrofoam balls
- Pink Tulle
- Hot Glue Gun
- White Paint
Start by painting the paper mache cones white. I painted them once, let it dry, then painted them again. When the cones are completely dry, hot glue a styrofoam ball inside it. Choose a ball that will fit right in the top of the cone without falling in.
Hot glue the end of the tulle to the base of the ball. Start wrapping the ball very loosely with the tulle. Continue until the cotton candy is as full and fluffy as you want it to be. Use a dot of hot glue to tuck the end of the tulle into the cone and glue it in place.
Glue a string loop to the back of the cotton candy. You can use these like I did, as ornaments, or string them together to make a fun banner for a party. I hope you’ll enjoy all twelve of my family friendly crafts! See the list below for all of the projects.
