This Holy Family Ornament Tutorial is a great group or family project to make together.
Welcome to day NINE of my 12 days of Christmas crafts series! These quick projects are perfect for crafters of all levels. I made these with families and kids in mind, because the holidays are such a great time for everyone to craft together. I hope you’ll enjoy these activities on your own or with friends and family.
The 12 projects all feature items given to me by Oriental Trading Company. Check out my Instagram feed and stories to get the scoop on their latest deals along with codes for free shipping.
Supplies used in this Holy Family Ornament Tutorial
- Wood Peg Family Set
- Craft Paint: Brown, Blue, White
- Gold Cord
- Glue Gun
The cute set comes packaged as a trio from Oriental Trading Company. The family set comes in packs of 12, which is what makes this such a great family or group activity. First paint just the bodies of each wood figure. I painted Joseph’s robes brown, Mary’s in blue, and baby Jesus in white. I left the faces blank and natural to create a primitive looking piece.
Use hot glue to attach the pieces together. Cut a length of gold cord to make a circle, like a halo. Use hot glue to keep the ends together and to attach the halo to the three figures.
This cute piece can either stand, to create decor, or can be hung as an ornament on a tree.
I hope you’ll enjoy all twelve of my family friendly crafts! See the list below for all of the projects.
