Get noticed with this birdhouse spring wreath.
Add cheer to your front door this spring with a large, colorful wreath. This three dimensional birdhouse box from Walnut Hollow is light enough to hang, and large enough to embellish with your favorite items!

Choose a paint color that matches the fabric you plan to use. I chose a pretty shade called Celery by Plaid Crafts to paint the trim and inside walls of the birdhouse. Let the paint dry completely.
Cut the fabric to to fit the birdhouse. First I traced the pieces on the fabric, then I placed the fabric on the desired section of the birdhouse and traced exactly where I needed to trim the fabric so it would fit.
Brush Mod Podge onto the wood. Lay the fabric piece on top, and seal it with another layer of Mod Podge. Continue until the walls and roof of the birdhouse are covered. I used a pretty floral fabric for the house and burlap fabric for the roof.
Use hot glue to add the nest and bird to the “first floor” of the birdhouse.
Make a small banner with fabric and twine. Hot glue the banner in place.
Embellish the house with fabric butterflies and fabric flowers.
To hang the wreath, first place the hook end of the wreath hanger inside the “window” on the back of the bird house. Then, slip the wreath over the top of the wreath hanger and arrange it behind the bird house. Finally, you can hang the wreath on your door. What a cheery way to welcome guests, and spring, to your home!
